Largest Property Owner
in the Country
Billionaire Ted Turner, vice-chairman of
Time Warner Inc. is considered the largest private
landowner in the U.S. having bought 3,620 acres of land near Tallahassee for
about $12 million in 2001. The site adjoins Mr. Turner's 8,100-acre
Avaon Plantation. Among Mr. Turner's other land holdings are 1.6
million acres in Montana and New Mexico.
